Not for public speaker listening usually. Unless you find humor in leading people around you to think your biblical from the first 30 seconds or so, then BAM!, Louie drops the f'bomb…a lot. Hehe #sickhumor #funnymonday

I'm $5 in on this

It's an elegant solution to small screen and sans-screen typing. Google will most likely buy them or develop something similar to address input issues in their Glass project (like they've embedded swype into 4.2.2) but I think it's cool and it'll be awhile before Google brings this native (if ever). So I'm getting behind this one just to see how it works this summer. Good luck +Minuum

Great look back at a hilarious prankster on April fools day

At Apple iPhone 1G introduction by Steve Jobs (1/2) you see the joke.
Forget about device name calling for a sec to appreciate one of this era's greatest public speakers.

Took a few minutes to work with the processing features in the native camera app on the Nexus 4 today.
At 10 am this morning the sky appeared more like it does at 6 am due to some pretty wild spring storms. Thanks to auto settings the original capture was entirely over exposed. Using the processing tools I was able to bring it back to an image that better represented what it was really like at the time. (Except for the while film border… That was not there.)
What do you think? Would you process phone pics, or do you just share what the camera captures?

Here's one more photosphere from the walk yesterday

This is next to the colorful cut-out installation seen in the previous post.
It's probably just me, but that acronym doesn't appear accurate.
What other scenes would you like to see in photoshpere?

More fiddling with the Nexus 4 native camera today

Posted by on Mar 23, 2013 in Google+ | 0 comments

This time taking on color and using the in-camera post-production processing tools.
These post-tools are nice: simple, fairly light (not too many options so that it's overwhelming), and saving does not down sample for web.
What do you think of the color?

I'm starting to get some near-successful photospheres from my Nexus 4 now

Posted by on Mar 23, 2013 in Google+ | 0 comments

But I have to admit there's something entertaining about the stitching attempts where people enter and exit the frame almost in a multi-dimensional manner.
The second image- less encompassing, more accurate render. The first image- wider field of view, beings entering/exiting the visible spectrum, legs vanishing, and floating torsos.
Which one is your favorite?

Happy Chinese Spring Festival, 2013 Year of the Snake! 新年快樂, 恭禧發財!

This is a scene from the famous Xihu flower fair in Yuexiu district of Guangzhou. Hundreds of thousands of people will visit this and a few other flower fairs around the city in the last few days leading up to Spring Festival.
Up next, a short time-lapse of the crowds at this market.

(Feb. 7, 2013. Guangzhou, China) Opening day of the Xihu flower fair in Guangzhou’s centermost Yuexiu district welcomed more than one hundred thousand visitors this year as people rushed to the largest and longest standing flower fair to pick up holiday arrangements and decorations just two days before Chinese Spring Festival. Buh'bye 2012. Welcome 2013!

Posted by on Dec 31, 2012 in Google+ | 0 comments

I'll cap off 2012 with a shot I captured this evening on the metro during rush hour. I spent a lot of time on the train this year and I suspect next year will be no different. It's quite an experience knowing each day I take that train I'm part of an average 5 million commuters shuttled across the city.
It may not seem possible, but within 30 seconds from this photo dozens more passengers will pack into this car and the doors will close.
(Yes, I did make it on this train.)
Happy New Year!

(Guangzhou, China. Dec 31, 2012) Commuters shuffle to reposition themselves as the doors open on line 2 at Gongyuanqian station. Riders on the Guangzhou Metro system experienced a surge of peak travel during evening rush hour on New Year’s eve thanks, in part, to an influx of visitors to the city to celebrate the holiday.

Happy 1221!

Posted by on Dec 21, 2012 in Google+ | 0 comments

Just before dark, I headed over to the village for a bite to eat. While I was there, I captured this scene of the people funneling through the narrow alley street lined with street vendors.
How will you celebrate 12-21?

Does it bother you that apps downloaded from the Amazon App store are reporting usage back to Amazon?
I wasn't aware until recently that many apps from the Amazon app store require you to remain signed into the Amazon application. That's not cool at all.

Well lookie what New MySpace (NMS) sent. More invites

Posted by on Dec 11, 2012 in Google+ | 3 comments

OK, it's just 8 invites again so this time let's try something new. Last time I handed them out to the first eight people who commented. That was fun and I made a few new friends.
Here's what I'd like to do this time. In the spirit of holiday giving and charity, if you'd like an invite it's yours but you have to promise to give away at least half of your invites in a public post on your preferred social network. (don't forget to keep at least one for your gf, bf, husband, or wife….awkward if you don't…believe me)
Don't make anyone circle, friend, retweet, link, or what have you to earn an invite. That's just a strange thing to make someone do.
So comment below with your email addy that you'd like the invite to go to and remember to write: I promise to offer at least half of my invites to everyone.
Happy holidays!
